Billboard reports that MOBY is finishing up his new album, the follow-up to 2005's "Hotel", for release sometime early 2008. The article quotes Moby describing the new record as, "dance-oriented ... in a more late '70s, early '80s sense of dance music, that post-disco period. It doesn't sound like big, banging techno tracks; it's more Grace Jones and Donna Summer inspired."
This already sounds a lot better than "Hotel", a more adult-alternative oriented album. I have remained a true Moby fan since 1995's "Everything is Wrong" album, even through the low-points and the backlash that followed his rise to super-stardom. I have a lot of faith in the new album. How can you go wrong with Grace Jones as an inspiration?
