Baltimore's CELEBRATION will release their second LP "The Modern Tribe" via 4AD on October 9th. I'm all about this. If you haven't heard Celebration's debut album, most notably the 2006 single 'War', make it happen. It's easy. Just check out the video below.
The new single, 'Evergreen', explores the band's gentler side - in other words, this could be their breakthrough. Gorilla Vs. Bear goes as far as to say the album track 'Heartbreak' could be Celebration's 'Maps' (Yeah Yeah Yeahs). Wow! I can't wait to hear the rest of the album.

The Adolescent Sessions is a bi-monthly event featuring 2 bands, 2 rooms, CCTV, projectors, and a lot of wiring. Presented by Billy J and Viva Radio, the new series combines live broadcast recording sessions with a voyeuristic A/V experience. Part show, part real-time documentary, part Schrodinger's Cat, The Adolescent Sessions is a sensory anomaly in which the audience witnesses the bands' performance in progress via surveillance video feed streaming from an adjacent room. Audio and video recordings are later aired on Viva Radio (www.viva-radio.com).
Thursday, October 4th features Celebration and Blues Control.
Every 1st and 3rd Thursday. $5.
