Coachella Rumors 2010

As 2009 nears its end, rumors are starting to swirl as to who might grace the Coachella stages in 2010. Today Consequence of Sound has divulged that Muse are more than likely slated to be one of the headliners of the yearly festival when it goes down April 16-18 in Indio, California. Muse join the shortlist of (confirmed?) acts, which includes Devo, Hot Chip, The XX, Miike Snow, and Aeroplane. Other heavily rumored acts include Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, The Raveonettes, Echo & the Bunnymen, The Dead Weather, Pavement, Spacemen 3, and The Stooges. The official lineup announcement is expected sometime in January.

New RAVEONETTES - The Chosen One

Vice Records and The Raveonettes are offering up the new, previously unreleased track "The Chosen One" for free. "The jittery soda-shop stomp" is not a bad outtake from the new album In and Out of Control.

GIANA FACTORY - Trippin

Giana Factory are three girls from Copenhagen who just released the Bloody Game ep on October 12th. It's worth noting that the trio includes lead singer Loui Foo, sister of Sharin Foo of The Raveonettes. But the sound at work here has absolutely no other relation to The Raves. Here we have dark romantic electro pop. The new video for "Trippin" was directed by the OhhMaryMary team.

THE RAVEONETTES Announce New Album

Fresh from their performance at last weekend's Siren Festival at Coney Island, The Raveonettes have announced the completion of their fourth full length LP. Vice Records will release In & Out Of Control on October 6th and according to their Twitter page, some of the possible tracks to make the final cut are "Gone Forever", "Heart of Stone", "Suicide", "Last Dance", Wine", "Boys Who Rape", and "Bang!". Check out this demo of "Last Dance" for a taste of what's to come.

THE RAVEONETTES - Lust Lust Lust Out Tomorrow, New Video for 'Aly, Walk With Me'

The Raveonettes are back with the new album Lust Lust Lust, a striking return to the dirtier sound of their 2002 debut Whip It On. The album is great! If you like drony guitars, catchy melodies, and gritty, distorted rock you should definitely check it out. The third video from the album, for the opening track "Aly, Walk With Me", has surfaced, as well, download the standout gem "Dead Sound" below.

THE RAVEONETTES - "Lust Lust Lust"

THE RAVEONETTES have a new LP on the way titled "Lust Lust Lust". Problem is, they are currently without a North American label, as news was just announced that they have left Columbia Records. Internationally, the new album will be released on November 5, 2007.

According to Billboard, some of the new tracks include 'With My Eyes Closed' and 'Aly Walk With Me'. As well, demo versions of 'Lust', 'Blush', and 'Black Satin' have been posted on the Swedish (correction - Danish) duo's Myspace page.

THE RAVEONETTES - Loud, Intimate, Amazing

THE RAVEONETTES special Loud & Intimate Electric Duo set at The Mercury Lounge last night was simply breathtaking. This was my first time seeing the Swedish band play since their mindblowing 2003 performance at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco. It was such a different experience, but equally amazing. I cannot wait for their next record.

Opening act THE PITY PARTY, also a male/female duo, were also quite awesome. Lead singer/drummer/keyboardist Heisenflei is nothing short of extraordinary, giving the term 'multitasking' a whole new meaning. Wow. If you ever get the chance, see this band live.
