Who is iamamiwhoami?

This mysterious artist has been releasing short videos over the last two months, creating a buzz around the internet in regards to who it might be. The woman in the videos looks like Lady Gaga, but many had thought it could either be Christina Aquilera or Goldfrapp, though the two have since been pretty much ruled out. Other names floating around in the rumor pool include Aphex Twin, a new Trent Reznor project, and The Knife. There's always the chance that it could be a complete unknown, but the videos look fairly expensive. Who do you think it is?

You can watch more of her mysterious short videos here.

New GOLDFRAPP Album On the Way

Good news for fans of Goldfrapp. According to Pitchfork, the electro duo will release their 5th full length album on March 23rd via Mute. The new LP is titled Head First and has been described as "an Italo-esque disco record that isn't really an Italo-esque disco record and is just in fact a Goldfrapp record, albeit one which sounds a bit like Van Halen vs Laura Branigan." The first single will be "Rocket", due March 9th.

GOLDFRAPP - 'Caravan Girl'

"Caravan Girl" is the third video from Goldfrapp's Seventh Tree LP. It's also my favorite track from the album - dramatic, sweeping, epic - I love it. Check out the brand new video below.

GOLDFRAPP Playing Coachella, 'A & E' Music Video

Goldfrapp have pulled a 180 with their upcoming fourth album "Seventh Tree", opting to ditch the electro-glam stylings of 2005's "Supernature". The new single 'A & E' walks a folksier road than anything the duo has done before. Check out the video below, which finds Alison Goldfrapp lying on a bed of leaves in a forest somewhere, frolicking around with dancing leaf-men and various animals of the wild. The track is a startling departure, but grows on you with each listen.

At the same time, MSNBC is reporting that Goldfrapp will finally play Coachella when it rolls around again the last weekend of April. "Seventh Tree" will be released February 26 via Mute Records.

New GOLDFRAPP Album On the Way

Goldfrapp have posted a bulletin on myspace announcing the completion of their new album, which is to be very different from "Supernature".

The message from Goldfrapp:

"Been a long time I know, but we have finally emerged from our beavering hole in Somerset and have an album!

Feels really good to have finished it and we can’t wait for you to hear what we have been doing. It’s very different to Supernature so it might come as a bit of a shock to some of you.

We had fun making it and loved doing something that is in complete contrast to the last album, even though sometimes it took a bit of courage to steer as far away as we did on some of the tunes. It has come from the heart and was made with love, so we hope you will be into it too."

No info yet on the title, tracklisting or a release date. I will definitely keep you posted.

CHUNGKING - 'Love Is Here To Stay'

I can't believe that I've only just discovered CHUNGKING, a duo from Brighton, comprised of Sean Hennessey and Jessie Banks. The new single 'Love Is Here To Stay' is pure sugar; as if Goldfrapp went all the way with their recent dabbling in sassy-glam-chic. Album track 'Slow It Down' takes Jessie's sultry disco vocal and lovingly layers it over Richard-X's signature synth production. This stuff is bound to make the slow but steady journey to world domination. I smell a steaming-hot bowl full of music licensing in the future of Chungking. Good for them.

ROISIN MURPHY - 'Overpowered'

Irish electro chanteuse ROISIN MURPHY returns this summer with the brand new album "Overpowered", her follow-up to the 2005 solo debut "Ruby Blue". The title track serves as the first single, which also comes accompanied with a strange video of Murphy finishing a show, then taking the bus home in an over-the-top, atrocious checkered dress that gives one the feeling Roisin is poking fun at fellow art-electro-chick Alison Goldfrapp. It's hard not to draw the GOLDFRAPP comparisons, but remember, Roisin's originally the singer for MOLOKO, an electronic act that made a splash back in 1995, a good few years prior to Goldfrapp. Then again, Alison Goldfrapp appeared on ORBITAL's 'Are We Here?' in 1994.

These comparisons are all in good fun, as both are uniquely captivating and deserving of your attention.
