AIR FRANCE - No Way Down ep

Everyone's going gaga over Air France, the latest export from the seemingly warm and tropical city of Gothenburg, Sweden. Running along the same path as fellow Swedes The Honeydrips and The Tough Alliance, Air France make contemporary disco pop, ripe with spliced-up samples and lush atmospherics. A digital download of the No Way Down ep is available for five bucks and some change at Sincerely Yours, a Swedish label you should be keeping an eye on if you like the nostalgic synth-pop sound of the eighties.

CUT COPY, THE PRESETS Invade the States

Cut Copy will release their 2nd album In Ghost Colours on April 8, with an iTunes pre-release two weeks earlier on March 25. If you happen to be in Austin this week for SXSW, don't miss tomorrow night's Modular showcase. Cut Copy will headline, with support from The Tough Alliance and The Black Ghosts. The Bang Gang Deejays and DJ Remy Mac will also be on hand for the party. Wish I was there!!

Cut Copy will also be playing a pair of dates here in NYC starting this weekend - Studio B (Sat) & Mercury Lounge (Mon). Both dates are sold out, but limited tickets will be available at the door for the Studio B show.

THE TOUGH ALLIANCE - 'A New Chance'

The Tough Alliance have been under my radar for a while now, but I've never managed to post about them. They are a male duo from Gothenburg, Sweeden who make irresistable retro synth-pop.
