THE DODOS - Visiter

Following a mountain of critical hype and an appearance at SXSW last week, San Francisco duo The Dodos jave just released their third album Visiters on Frenchkiss Records. These guys make psychedelic folk music that is simply best described as good music. Download the excellent "Fools", as well as the new single "Jodi" below.

The Dodos are currently on a mammoth tour of the US. They will also be joining Les Savy Fav and The Big Sleep on very select dates before joining Akron/Family for a performance at Coachella next month. Full tour itinerary and more info about The Dodos here.

Belated...ARCADE FIRE/LCD SOUNDSYSTEM/BLONDE REDHEAD Photos

As you may have heard by now, last weekend's extravaganza at Randall's Island was amazing. Minus ferry troubles that seemed like a scene out of War of the Worlds, the day was fantastic, featuring mindblowing sets by LES SAVY FAV, BLONDE REDHEAD, LCD SOUNDSYSTEM, and ARCADE FIRE...it's all been said. I'm only very sad that I arrived too late to catch the majority of Les Savy Fav's set. When I arrived Tim Harrington was half naked, doing naughty things with a pie. I heard it was astounding.

Here are my lackluster photos of the day's events...I need a new camera already!

ARCADE FIRE & LCD SOUNDSYSTEM & BLONDE REDHEAD & LES SAVY FAV Tomorrow!

The show of the year is finally here! Tomorrow at Randall's Island, four amazing bands will share the stage - ARCADE FIRE, LCD SOUNDSYSTEM, BLONDE REDHEAD, & LES SAVY FAV - and the weather is predicted to be perfect!

Plus there's that surprise gift from Arcade Fire that everyone's been talking about that will be revealed tomorrow. What the hell is it? The general consensus is that the LCD Soundsystem remix of 'Black Mirror' will become available for download...though I'm kind of hoping for something a bit more exciting. We'll all know tomorrow morning.

Also on the bill tomorrow are the as-of-yet unknown Boston band WILD LIGHT.

Schedule:

Doors: 3:30pm
Wild Light: 5:00pm
Les Savy Fav: 5:50pm
Blond Redhead: 6:50pm
LCD Soundsystem: 7:55PM
Arcade Fire: 9:15pm

Is anyone else taking the ferry?

See you on the island!

LCD SOUNDSYSTEM - 'Someone Great'

LCD SOUNDSYSTEM are about to release the third single from the genius "Sound of Silver" album. 'Someone Great' drops on October 22 (UK) with undisclosed remixes and fun stuff. I have still NEVER seen LCD live, but that is about to change when I make the trek out to Randall's Island on October 6th, when they join ARCADE FIRE, LES SAVY FAV, and BLONDE REDHEAD for a day of sensory overload. I cannot fucking wait!!! Check out the brand new LCD video for 'Someone Great' below...
