CFCF Offers Free Fleetwood Mac Cover

CFCF's new album Continent hits stores yesterday and we here at The Sky Report are loving it. A highlight from the album is the wonderful cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Big Love" and now the Montreal based artist is offering the track for free. Enjoy!

CFCF has made waves here before. Now he's back, and this time with a full-length album.

"Continent, the long awaited debut full length from Montreal's CFCF (aka Mike Silver), takes Silver's musical and visual influences and turns them to song, leading one through varying landscapes and moods. The album comes to us after a long string of remixes for HEALTH, The Presets, The Teenagers, and Hearts Revolution. In the time leading up to Continent, he released the Panesian Nights EP and The Explorers single, which featured label-mate and frequent collaborator Sally Shapiro."

I admit, I don't know much about Montreal's CFCF, but I love zombie movies and I'm really digging on this track. Mike Silver is the man behind the music, with confessed influences as wide-ranging as Madonna, Fleetwood Mac, Vangelis, and The Boredoms. Here's some more background for you...

"Having first caught tastemakers’ attention with his contest winning remix of Crystal Castles “Air War,” CFCF has gone on to produce official remixes for talents such as Sally Shapiro, The Presets, HEALTH, The Teenagers and Hearts Revolution among many others."

"Crystal Mines" is the lead-off track on the new ep Panesian Nights, released earlier this week on Paper Bag Records. Check out the zombified video below, which reportedly uses footage from Nuits Rouges, some 1974 French film.

SALLY SHAPIRO - Remix Romance Vol. 2

Sally Shapiro released Remix Romance Vol. 2 yesterday on Paper Bag Records, but the only way to snag it is to do so digitally. The new collection features remixes by CFCF, Russian Futurists, Spitzer and more. The first remix album (released physically) had Holy Fuck, Dntel, Juan MacLean, Junior Boys, and Lindstrøm.

Check out the CFCF remix of "Time to Let Go", which incorporates Madonna's "Borderline" in a surprisingly elegant way. (mp3 link)
