GIANA FACTORY - Trippin

Giana Factory are three girls from Copenhagen who just released the Bloody Game ep on October 12th. It's worth noting that the trio includes lead singer Loui Foo, sister of Sharin Foo of The Raveonettes. But the sound at work here has absolutely no other relation to The Raves. Here we have dark romantic electro pop. The new video for "Trippin" was directed by the OhhMaryMary team.

THE RAVEONETTES Announce New Album

Fresh from their performance at last weekend's Siren Festival at Coney Island, The Raveonettes have announced the completion of their fourth full length LP. Vice Records will release In & Out Of Control on October 6th and according to their Twitter page, some of the possible tracks to make the final cut are "Gone Forever", "Heart of Stone", "Suicide", "Last Dance", Wine", "Boys Who Rape", and "Bang!". Check out this demo of "Last Dance" for a taste of what's to come.

LULU ROUGE - Bless You

Lulu Rouge are a Danish downtempo duo with a brand new debut album entitled Bless You. The album consists of moody and atmospheric, dub-infused tracks, featuring collaborations with Trentemøller, who calls the duo “the next big thing to come out of Denmark”. The sound takes me back to the early days of artists like Gus Gus and Lamb, a sound I am so into revisiting right now.

The debut single is also called “Bless You” and features vocals by seven-time Danish Music Awards nominee Mikael Simpson. Grab it below.

ALPHABEAT

Alphabeat have already made a big splash in their homeland of Denmark. Now, they have their sights set on the UK, and hopefully America, in the near future. The single "Fascination" is catchy as hell! For those easily bothered by overly cheerful pop music, you may want to skip this one. But if your spirits need some escapist lifting, check out the video below.

The debut album from Alphabeat hits the UK on June 2nd.

WOLFKIN - Brand New Pants

Wolfkin are the Copenhagen duo consisting of Lars Vognstrup (Junior Senior) and Kristian Godtfredsen. The pair have created a compelling debut in the form of Brand New Pants, an album that is densely layered with complex lyrics and musical arrangements. Their sound is entrenched in 60's psychedelia with a modern twist. Check out the videos for "These Are All Illusions" and "A Vacant Heart" below.

Wolfkin play SXSW today at BD Riley's, followed by a one-off gig in Los Angeles at Spaceland on March 19th.

epo-555 - "Mafia"

epo-555 are from Copenhagen and recently released their second album "Mafia" on Rykodisc in the US. The sound is a sort of infectious dreampop/melancholic electro that at times conjures an early 90's nostalgia, something I can never resist. Good stuff.

PRIVATE - 'My Secret Lover'

I love when I get new music in my mailbox, especially when I like it from first listen. PRIVATE are a new act out of Copenhagen, Denmark fronted by Thomas Troelsen, formerly of SUPERHEROES, who recently disbanded in 2006. Troelsen is a prolific Danish producer, having worked with such acts as JUNIOR SENIOR, AQUA, and JULEE CRUISE just to name a few.

PRIVATE were recently signed to Universal, with an album to hit American shores in 2008.

THE RAVEONETTES - "Lust Lust Lust"

THE RAVEONETTES have a new LP on the way titled "Lust Lust Lust". Problem is, they are currently without a North American label, as news was just announced that they have left Columbia Records. Internationally, the new album will be released on November 5, 2007.

According to Billboard, some of the new tracks include 'With My Eyes Closed' and 'Aly Walk With Me'. As well, demo versions of 'Lust', 'Blush', and 'Black Satin' have been posted on the Swedish (correction - Danish) duo's Myspace page.
